KFC came under fire recently for this stereotypical take on their clientele. The Australian faction of the company, the home base of the ad, claims it had no idea about the racism associated with this commercial because it doesn’t exist in Australia! It was just a “light-hearted reference to the West Indian cricket team.”
Videogum then followed up with this fantastic post where it found a second racist KFC video via the Korean market, though needless to say they didn’t find any association with cricket here either:
